All-new 2027 Infiniti QX65: Luxe sporty fastback mid-size SUV

Infiniti has a slick new SUV coming out this summer, and if you are a fan of high-end interiors, it's a real winner. The all-new 2027 QX65 two-row SUV defines sporty luxury. It will be offered in three trims -- base Luxe, mid-range Sport, and fully loaded Autograph -- with a peppy 268-hp turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The car is an upscale take of the brand's midsize QX60 SUV.

The QX65 is a striking evolution of the brand's "Artistry in Motion" design language, featuring a dramatic arching roofline, wide, sporty stance, and precisely drawn bodysides that create unapologetic curb appeal. The stretched arch profile leads the eye toward the vehicle's powerful rear stance, all while preserving utility with competitive cargo capacity: 35.8 cu. ft behind the second row and 67.7 cu. ft behind the first row.

QX65's new Sunfire Red paint features genuine gold-coated glass flecks, requiring a three-layer application to achieve its one-of-a-kind appearance. This treatment delivers a finish that communicates movement and emotional energy -- even at rest.

The QX65 Sport makes a more aggressive impression with a sportier front grille design, unique 20-in. wheels, a graphite headliner, and gloss black carbonite interior trim pieces. The exterior accents, including window trim, roof rails, door trim, rear bumper protector, and all emblems, are finished in gloss black.

QX65 Autograph features the best of Infiniti craftsmanship. Its exterior is finished with satin chrome window surround trim, 21-in. machined-finish alloy wheels, and a black-painted roof. Details inside the cabin include open-pore wood-toned accents, a quilted dashboard, and semi-aniline leather seats that feature an asymmetrical diagonal quilting pattern inspired by the layered folds of a kimono. To complete the indulgent experience, the front seats feature a massaging function too.

At the heart of each QX65 is a Variable Compression Turbo engine delivering 268 hp and 286 lb-ft of torque. The VC-Turbo was the world's first production variable compression powertrain and was named to Wards 10 Best Engines list upon its introduction in 2018, and it has been continually revised and enhanced. In QX65, it has been tuned for responsive, confident acceleration with bold torque delivery. The engine is coupled to a 9-speed automatic transmission with standard paddle shifters. It has been specifically tuned with a sportier, more aggressive shift schedule that makes QX65 feel more eager to accelerate, resulting in decisive off-the-line performance and powerful merging capability.

To make the driving experience more engaging, QX65 features Active Noise Cancellation and Active Sound Enhancement. Standard Intelligent All-Wheel Drive ensures confident traction in varied road conditions. QX65 is designed around larger wheel sizes with wide, low-profile tires that deliver enhanced grip for greater road feel, steering precision, and stability. QX65 has a towing rating of 6,000 lb when properly equipped.

Infiniti's approach to elevated hospitality includes a unique welcome lighting sequence that greets clients when they unlock QX65. Exterior lighting illuminates in a spirited yet refined sequence, beginning with the INFINITI emblem and continuing through the digital piano key lights at either side of the vehicle's grille.

From the rear, QX65 makes a bold statement with a three-dimensional, full-width LED tail lamp. It features multiple pronounced vertical elements that were inspired by the vertical fins of aircraft. Its rear wiper is subtly hidden within the rear spoiler, not only giving a cleaner appearance but also contributing to enhanced rear-window visibility and allowing the wiper to clear a greater amount of the window.

Inside, the cabin showcases the best in the brand's attention to detail and craftsmanship, while paying homage to its Japanese heritage. Premium is the word when it comes to design, materials, and finishes -- from the 8-way power heated front seats to the semi-aniline leather-appointed seats with perforation and quilting -- and the panoramic sunroof shows it all off beautifully.

The interior is highly functional too, with flexible second-row seating and a generous cargo area that allows drivers to bring along all they need. The second row slides, reclines, and folds so drivers can prioritize passenger legroom or cargo space. Available 64-color ambient lighting -- with four pre-defined sets of colors themed by Japanese seasons -- allow the driver to personalize the cabin's ambience to their tastes and mood.

All grades of the QX65 feature simple yet powerful technology for staying connected, informed, and entertained. Dual 12.3-in. displays are standard on all grades -- one for the reconfigurable instrument cluster, one for the infotainment system.

QX65 Sport has a 16-speaker Klipsch Premium system with 600 W of power, an 8-in. TriPower subwoofer, and 1-in. titanium dome tweeters, while QX65 Autograph has a 20-speaker Klipsch Reference Premiere system with 1,200 W of power. Autograph grade additionally features Individual Audio, which uses headrest speakers for the driver and front passenger to specifically target music or phone conversations to different occupants. Individual Audio allows the driver to hear only certain audio elements, such as navigation directions, music, or phone calls, from their seat.

QX65 offers the reassurance of innovation-backed technologies that support the driver and help bring peace-of-mind to the road. Standard technology includes Predictive Forward Collision Warning, Blind Spot Warning, Blind Spot Intervention, Lane Departure Prevention, High Beam Assist, rear parking sensors, and ProPILOT Assist. Autograph is available with ProPILOT Assist 2.1. Optional features include Smart Rear View Mirror, providing a camera view behind the vehicle, and a 10.8-in. color head-up display.

QX65 Sport and Autograpph add 3D Around View Monitor, providing a more convenient way to spot obstacles around the vehicle. They also feature Front Wide View, which offers a wide-angle camera view to the front and sides of the vehicle, and Invisible Hood View, which uses advanced image processing to project footage from the vehicle's exterior cameras of what's directly underneath the vehicle onto the in-car displays. Autograph with Technology Package upgrades the 3D Around View Monitor to add a spin capability, allowing the driver to swipe on the infotainment display to rotate a virtual viewpoint all around QX65.

The 2027 INFINITI QX65 is offered in three richly equipped grades: Luxe ($53,990), Sport ($55,690), and Autograph ($62,590). This SUV will be manufactured in Smyrna, TN, and reach retailers in early summer.
